Yo-Chi Yoga for Children
YO-CHI IS A COMBINATION OF YOGA & TAI CHI
Yo-Chi Yoga for Children
This unique blend aids mindfulness with the influences of traditional Chinese Medicine and Seasonal Yoga. This educational program can also be taken into schools as part of the curriculum. I am also a qualified teacher, been teaching for the past 20 years.
Exercise is so important for children to incorporate in a fun and inventive way. Yo-Chi is ideal for this, the session is not in a rigid format but is flexible to meet the needs of the children. Often beginning with a ‘circle time’ to catch up and set the theme. Then the children are asked to recap on their previous poses, of which, they love to ‘show and tell’ how much they remember! The session is then ready to begin, stories are inventive and sensory acting out each scene and also the chance to experiment with the new poses, relating to the stories not only physically but alongside the seasons. Traditional Chinese Medicine links the organs of the body with the seasons, for example, during the season of Spring the liver and gallbladder are investigated. Suggesting Qigong movements for the specific organs, children really love these poses too.

My background is in teaching. I have taught, SEN, primary, secondary, post-16 and English as a second language for a combination of 20 years. At the age of 28 I began to study Karate, I reached 2nd Dan (Black Belt). After back surgery I realised I could no longer teach Karate the way I used too, unfortunately.
I am a mum, nan and a great nan all of which I love. At the ripe young age of 57 I performed a backbend which I had not been able to achieve for over 20 years, this is the miracle of yoga. Yes, if I can do it, you can too. Yoga really is for everyone, so why not give it a try?
