Overview

Ashtanga Yoga originally taught by the late Sri. K. Pattabhi Jois in Mysore India.  Using Sun Salutations and a series of specific asanas.  Concentrating on the breath, posture and the looking point.  The breath with movement is known as vinyasa and postures are asanas, where we should be looking is known as drishti.  This kind of yoga helps to build flexibility and strength over time.  Mysore is a traditional way of teaching yoga.  Yogis (students) practise in the shala at their own pace with one to one guidance given as and when needed.

Contraindications of Ashtanga Mysore

Yoga students come to class with a variety of physical conditions and in most cases common sense combined with controlled and pain free range of movement will keep yoga students safe in my class. If there are medical conditions to which the student may come to harm it is important to inform the tutor at the beginning of the session.
